Pi Tau Sigma created the first ever tutoring center anywhere on campus for engineering coursework, which we hosted in VEC-219C from April 4, 2011, through finals week of the Spring 2015 semester. Members of other engineering honor societies also participated as the Pi Tau Sigma Tutoring Center gained notoriety and popularity. Tutoring services were free of charge and tutors volunteered their time in selfless service to the College and to their community.
Beginning Fall 2015, the College of Engineering took over and converted the room into needed office space for lecturers and began providing its own services by means of employed tutors through the Engineering Student Success Center ("ESSC") in EN2-300. Accordingly, this marked the closure of the Pi Tau Sigma Tutoring Center. It was an honor and a privilege to have been able to serve the engineering community at CSULB in this capacity for just over four years.
Between the Pi Tau Sigma Tutoring Center and our members also participating in peer mentoring in the ESSC, in the Spring 2013 semester Dr. Forouzan Golshani, Dean of Engineering, formally recognized Pi Tau Sigma for our service to the College of Engineering.
