Pi Tau Sigma is an International Mechanical Engineering Honor Society.

 Pi Tau Sigma's core values are:

  • Integrity (soundness of character and moral conduct),
  • Service (serving the mechanical engineering profession and the community), and
  • Leadership (being foremost and fostering initiative through example in a professional manner).

The objective of this organization shall be to encourage and recognize superior scholarship, to foster the high ideals of the engineering profession, to stimulate interest in coordinate departmental activities, to promote the mutual professional welfare of its members, and to develop, in mechanical engineering students, the attributes necessary for effective leadership and civic responsibilities.





Mission Statement

To promote superior scholarship by providing a free and convenient tutoring, prepare undergraduate engineers of the advances in the industries through informative speakers and facility tours and encourage fellowship among engineers through club activities.

Q: Who is Eligible for Pi Tau Sigma?

A:    First term Junior Mechanical Engineers in the top 25% of their class.

        Second term juniors in the top 33% of their class.
        Seniors in the top 35% of their class are eligible.

Q: What Kinds of Membership Are There?

A:     Honorary membership conferred by the organization to those who are technical graduates involved in engineering work.  
        Graduate membership is given to those who would have been eligible but did not have a chapter at their Alma Mater, or those continuing graduate study.
        Active membership is given to eligible students in their junior or senior year who attend an ABET accredited institution.

Q:  When is Initiation?

A:      Initiation takes place every semester on November for Fall and April for Spring.
